whoa
so people always tell me i write happy songs
well guess what
i just wrote the saddest song ive ever heard
and it might be the best song ive written yet
its about a civil war soldier who dies on the battle field leaving his wife and newborn at home waiting forever for his return

that one goes for everything from sitting around to driving to sitting at a computer posting on a social media site about it

today
i finished reading walden
rekindled an old friendship
contemplated sledding
decided against it
watched a documentary
had dogs bark at me
ate chinese food
started reading poetry as insurgent art
i dont believe in genres of music
only closed minded people
the bottom of my computer screen
so many open word documents
just ongoing songs
ill think or say a decent line
if it fits the idea of the song ill put it in
if it doesnt i open a blank document and put it in
sometimes i can think of a rhyme
then when i get enough i move them all around until they are arranged in a somewhat logical way
i miss the days when i would go into my basement at 2 in the morning with couple of words...
blogging about my troubles with new instruments
losing followers
not really caring that im losing followers
not really caring about anything at the moment
cant play well anymore
ill end up focusing so hard on getting the new instruments down that ill forget about practicing the old ones and end up sucking at those too
havent written a song in a couple of weeks
playing new harmonicas
i can now do the same repetoir as always only now in 7 keys
playing banjo
i have most of the left hand stuff down
i have nowhere near the right hand down
my finger picking needs to be improved
but thats ok i started out as a bluegrass flatpicker and then took up mandolin
clawhammer
i get the idea but dont know what to do with my thumb after it hits the head
playing electric guitar
it sounds good and its different, but im finding it much harder
it hilights my mistakes
i feel like a terrible guitar player at the moment
with an acoustic guitar or better yet a resonator i can blend everything together
with electric its just like yup kacey you messed up there
but im sticking with it
because when i dont mess up it sounds great
then i play an f chord
and its all hey you...

Haha did you get a tremelo pedal too Kacey? I’ve been trying for years to get every harmonica and now I do. So happy haha. What sort of banjo did you get? Photo? :)
